Once again I have redesigned one of my own handmade clothes!
Last year I was trying to make an easy summer dress for myself… But the shape on this dress did not fit my body type and I was wondering for a while if I should finish the dress and try to use it as a nightgown or something like that. I chose to just put this project away until I could find out what I could do with the dress.
For those who have read my blog for a while might remember that I have done a lot of redesigning this spring, because I have not had any money to buy new fabric and that’s the reason why I have done a lot of refashion this spring.
After thinking for a long time on what to do with this fabric (and yes I have been thinking a lot about it, and I made that dress a year ago) I found out that I wanted to try to make a cute summer blouse, but it was not that easy to find out what kind of blouse I wanted to make. I chose to use a pattern from kwik sew, pattern 3616.
I have made this blouse before so it was not so hard to make it but I feel like I don’t understand how the pattern is working. The neckline is the one that causes problems for me (it seems like is the neckline on blouses and dresses I need to work more on in the future), but after making this blouse for the second time, I think I know what the problem is.
I am happy with how this blouse became and I have already used it a few times.
Wow, you are very creative. If I was passing you on the street, my mind would quickly assume that you bought that cute top. Instead of modifying it.

Other bloggers have said this pattern is a bit too long in the top section.

I agree, the top section is bit too long and I am a bit short, so that’s the main reason for me that I am using a tank top under it.

Well done. My mother had wonderful skills with a needle and thread – I did not share in the fortune. You remind me of what she used to do, always changing and repurposing – and also buying shirts and blouses for pennies in a jumble sale so she could have the buttons! ๐
