After sewing my mother’s summer dress with the staycation pattern from Ellie & Mac, I wanted one too, just with different colors and patterns on the fabrics.
Before I made this dress, I saw a hack on how to make a faux placket, and I just fell in love with the look of the dress with it. Therefore, I decided to try making it for my dress too. I think it was a good first try, but I think the faux placket looks a bit bigger than it should have been but I kind of like it anyway.
A lot of people told me this dress looks very cute and pretty, so it gave me a bit more courage to make more kind of clothes with this type of hack and maybe make my own kind of hacks for different sewing patterns.
